Dual-Clutch vs. Automatic…That May be the Question.

Automotive terminology can sometimes be rather confusing, so it may come as no surprise if the idea of a dual-clutch transmission scares some drivers away.  People already avoid manual transmissions because of the hassle of using a clutch pedal.  A dual-clutch transmission is a breeze to operate, at least from the driver’s seat.

Every engine we work on has a certain sweet spot at which they operate most efficiently.  That optimum engine speed, however, is within a relatively narrow range.  A transmission basically adjusts the ratio between how fast the engine is spinning and how fast the wheels move (whether it be forward or backward).

We at The German Car Shoppe of Littleton know transmissions inside and out…not just in German manufactured vehicles, but other makes and models as well.  If you feel that your transmission should be checked, repaired, or replaced please call us at The German Car Shop serving all of the Denver area at 5115 Santa Fe Dr. in Littleton.  Call (303) 798-2287.
