The Difference Between Diesel and Gas.

If you are the owner of a high-performance German car you might be acutely aware of the difference.  One big variable is the injection process.  Most engines use a port injection.  A carburetor mixes air and fuel before the air enters the cylinder.  All of the fuel enters the cylinder during intake and is then compressed.

On the other hand, diesel engines use direct fuel injection.  The diesel fuel is injected directly into the cylinder.  The injector on a diesel engine is its most complicated component.  Over the years it has been subjected to a great deal of tweaking.  In some diesel engines there is a glow plug that raises the temperature when the engine is cold.

This is a big factor for those of us in the Denver area where the thermometer can drop well below freezing overnight.  The German Car Shoppe is aware of all your repair needs whether the engine is gas or diesel.  Rely on The German Car Shoppe for all of your German car maintenance needs.  Call their Littleton shop for an appointment at (303) 798-2287.
