A Brief History of German Motor Cars.

Karl Benz (the legend) manufactured the first German “Motorwagen” in 1885.  It looked like the proverbial horseless carriage.  It also happened to be the first motor car in the world.  That first model actually crashed later that year during a public demonstration.  Thank goodness, today’s German cars have a much greater shelf-life!

By the time the new century rolled around Germany was producing about 900 cars a year…not exactly assembly line speed at this point.  It was not until 1926 that Daimler-Benz was formed from Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz.  BMW was actually founded in 1916, but did not produce any vehicles until 1928.

We have come a long way, haven’t we?  Today about 6 million cars are produced each year and a similar number roll off the lines in other countries by German Brands.  We at the German Car Shoppe are proud to be the Denver area’s home for German Auto Repair.  From all of us to all of you Frohliche Weihnachten and Merry Christmas.

Why Use OEM Parts?

Aftermarket parts have been made by another manufacturer to replicate the part that was originally specified.  They may be suitable, but may not be to the exact specification as those laid down by the manufacturer.  Many people try to save a buck with aftermarket parts.  Is that what you want for your prized German car?

Here are some reasons to go with original equipment -

1.  Quality.  Many times, the aftermarket parts don’t match up making installation difficult.
2.  Warranty.  A non-OEM part may affect this.
3.  Durability.  Will they hold up as well?
4.  Replacement.  When aftermarket parts wear out, how easy are THEY to replace?

At The German Car Shoppe there is confidence in using OEM replacement parts for the first repair and EVERY repair that your German-owned vehicle may ever need.  We think you will be glad we did.  When your German car needs to be repaired in the Denver Metro just give us a call at (303) 798-2287 and make an appointment at our spacious shop located in Littleton.
